What We Do

What We Do

Building and sustaining a record label or music brand requires expertise across a wide range of disciplines – distribution, rights management, marketing, production, and royalty accounting, to name just a few. For most independent labels, assembling the infrastructure to do this alone is neither practical nor cost-efficient, and can be quite challenging, time-consuming, and requires many resources. Elypsia Music Group brings all of it under one roof, allowing label owners to retain full ownership, creative control.

Label Management under License
The primary thing. We offer complete management of labels under a licensing agreement, specifically for label owners who have a strong catalogue and a clear identity but lack the infrastructure and time to fully operate their label. All ownership is retained, but we take the operational running of the label across every stage, from rights administration and release preparation to distribution and royalty reporting.

How We Work

How We Work

We follow a structured process that covers the full life cycle of a release – from recovering and preparing the music, to getting it into the hands of listeners, and to making sure the right people get paid.

Rights, Catalogue, and A&R Foundation
Starting with ownership, we begin by auditing and consolidating the label’s rights. This includes identifying master recordings across formats, reclaiming or extending any rights that may have been lost through old contracts. We ensure all metadata is in order, accurate, complete, and ready for commercial use.

Preparing for Release
Once the catalogue is cleared, we carefully prepare releases for the market. This includes mastering, disc-cutting for vinyl production, product development, packaging, and much more – all handled with in-house expertise and facilities, or through our extended partner network.

Marketing Strategy & Promotion
We develop tailored marketing plans for each release, drawing on a range of promotional channels: social media advertising, email campaigns, press and magazine coverage, PR campaigns, listening events, DJ mailouts...

Production & Manufacturing
From vinyl and CD pressing to merchandise, we coordinate the physical production of each release, managing suppliers and timelines.

Distribution
We handle distribution through both physical and digital channels. Physical distribution covers retail stores and specialist record shops via established distributor networks, as well as direct-to-fan platforms such as Bandcamp. Digital distribution places music across all major streaming and download platforms, such as Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and beyond.

Royalty Accounting & Reporting

Post-release, we handle the full financial life cycle of a release on behalf of the labels we work with. This includes direct reporting to label owners, and where needed, to their artists as well. We manage the accounting of mechanical royalties, which are payments owed to songwriters and publishers whenever a musical composition is reproduced. We also manage  performers’ royalties and neighbouring rights, which ensure that both artists and rights holders receive what they are owed when recordings are publicly played, broadcast or streamed. As a signatory of the BIEM Agreement, we operate within an internationally recognised framework for mechanical rights collection.

In-House

A Note on our In-House Capabilities

Something that sets us apart from many label services companies is the depth of knowledge webring to the physical side of music, especially with vinyl. Our Brussels-based facilities include a dedicated disc-cutting suite equipped with a state-of-the-art Neumann VMS 80 cutting system, as well as the equipment needed to make high-quality, amazing sounding original lacquer discs, destined for commercial vinyl record manufacturing. It is one of a very small number still in professional operation, and we are very proud to remain one of the only record labels in the world to provide this in-house.

What We Do

What We Do

Our in-house label, Elypsia Records was founded in1993 – a moment when electronic dance music was ascending from the depths of subculture and was about to become a force to be reckoned with. We were lucky to have witnessed this first-hand, and to have had a chance to become a part of it.

Over a decade, the label released music that was uncompromising and ahead of its time, and grew to over 50 releases, ultimately releasing around 150 records to the market. We also started a distribution operation, before running a small network of specialised record stores. Most of what we released in those early years has stood the test of time – still sought after by collectors and fans – and is regularly being rereleased. Overall, this testifies to our thorough understanding of the music industry and A&R skills.

Eventually, we developed a broader vision: to build a full-service home for electronic music, combining artistry and the creative instincts of a label with the practical depth of a company mastering a wide range of music industry skills. This includes distribution, promotion, and other label services – a vision guiding everything we do today.

Our Vision

Our Vision

We believe that the people who build labels and curate music, artists, and creative visions should be able to focus on just that. Not the logistics, the paperwork, or the infrastructure. Just the music.

Electronic music has travelled a long road. Born in underground clubs with white-label pressings, some people did not think it would last. But here we are, more than 30 years later, and electronic music has acquired near-mainstream status – as serious and enduring as Jazz, Funk, Disco or Soul before it. Along the way, countless labels and catalogues have been built by passionate people who often lacked the support and the know-how to sustain and scale what they had created. Too many of those labels have stalled– not for the lack of great music, but for the lack of infrastructure and time to sustain them.

Here at Elypsia Music Group, we aim to be exactly that support. Our goal is to become the trusted operational partner for independent electronic music labels. We offer the tools, reach, and expertise to distribute music globally, protect creative rights, develop catalogues, and much more. We are very much committed to preserving the legacy of the music that started it all, with many projects in development.
